Measured against the Classic Era client: 9,144 records are new in Forever and 8,926 changed. A new record is one Era does not have; a changed one differs in what its page shows (level, stats, text, effects). NPCs, quests and objects count as new when they were seen in Forever and the vanilla 1.12 data does not know them.
