Terms of Use

Short version: read freely, post decently, and remember this is a fan site. Using ZugZugDB means you accept these terms. Effective 3 October 2026.

The site

ZugZugDB is an unofficial, fan-run database for World of Warcraft Forever, offered at no charge. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Blizzard Entertainment. It may change, break or go away at any time.

Accounts

An account is needed only to comment, vote, report or post a Theorycraft thread. You log in through Google, Discord or Battle.net and choose a display name here. You are responsible for what is posted under it. One person, one account. You may delete your account at any time from your account page; what that removes is described in the privacy policy.

Your content

You own what you write. By posting you give ZugZugDB a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, moderate and distribute it on the site and in its feeds, for as long as it stays posted, so that the site can show it. You may edit or delete your comments; a deleted account leaves its comments as "[deleted]" with no name and no text. Post only what you have the right to post.

What is not allowed

Trash talk about the game, its classes and its makers is fine. These are not:

  • threats, harassment, hate or slurs aimed at real people or groups;
  • sexual content involving minors, or soliciting sexual or private pictures or contact (always the top penalty);
  • publishing anyone's private details;
  • gold selling, boosting, scams, phishing, account trading and other advertising;
  • malicious links, link shorteners that hide a destination, and attempts to instruct the automated moderation;
  • scraping the database, walking the id space, ignoring robots.txt, or anything that overloads the server;
  • trying to break into the site or anyone's account.

Theorycraft threads also follow the posting standards shown on the new-thread form at Theorycraft: show your maths, cite your tests, separate what is known from what is assumed.

Moderation

Every comment is checked automatically before it appears; unclear ones wait for a human. Moderators may hold, hide or delete any content and may suspend or ban an account. A removed comment costs the author penalty points; enough points suspend posting, and a moderator can reverse a mistaken removal together with its points. Your standing is shown on your account page. To contest a decision, write to us from the contact page with your display name.

Takedown requests

If something posted here infringes your rights or is about you and should not be, tell us at pixelportllc@pm.me with a link to the page and what is wrong. We act quickly.

Game data and art

  • World of Warcraft, its names, data, icons, models and artwork are the property of Blizzard Entertainment and are shown here for reference, as the databases of 2005 did. World of Warcraft is a trademark of Blizzard Entertainment, Inc.
  • Vanilla reference data comes from the VMaNGOS project, published under the GNU General Public License v2; it is labelled as such and credited on the About page.
  • Official news posts are mirrored from Blizzard's public forums and news site for reading and discussion, each with a link to the original. Their text and pictures remain Blizzard's.
  • Observations recorded by players, the site's own pages and this site's code are ZugZugDB's. Linking, short links and the tooltip script are free to use as the Linking page describes; bulk copying is not.

No warranty

The site is provided as it is, with no guarantee of any kind. The game is in beta and the data moves between builds; anything here may be wrong, late or missing. Use it at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, ZugZugDB is not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of the site or from anything posted on it by others. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to use the site, which is nothing.

Governing law

Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with it; material changes are announced under News. Using the site after a change means you accept it.
